INTRODUCTION

Having run a successful B+B on the West coast of Ireland for 10 years, we decided to live our dream and move to France in 2006, where we fully restored a Charentaise farmhouse that we now run as La Lavende.

La Lavende is situated on the edge of a small village literally a stones throw from the market town of Aulnay de Saintonge, where you will find a supermarket, 3 Boulangeries, 3 Restaurants, 3 Bars, 4 Hairdressers, 2 Chemists, 3 Banks, Public Library, Tennis Courts. You can also enjoy it’s lively Sunday Market where you can buy fresh local produce. It also has a fine example of a Romanesque Church that periodically hosts Choral evenings.

Nearby is the pretty market town of St Jean d’Angely that has a large Wednesday and Saturday market offering a delight in colour and ambiance. Here you will find many shops, Supermarkets, Bars and Restaurants offering both French and international cuisine.
